A patient’s identity should be verified with photo identification such as a drivers licence, passport or Proof of Age Card.  This can be done during the consultation or as part of your receptions ‘Check in’ processes for new patients.  Where a patient/client does not have photo ID you should draw on your practices’/clinic’s usual process for identification of patients identity.
